The exhibition features installations, sculptures, videos, and performances set in an immersive environment, showcasing Stafylakis’s latest works and newly commissioned pieces.

Stafylakis employs a post-Internet aesthetic, crafting his art from digital imagery that transcends its original context to evoke new forms and meanings. His practice explores the dissolution of boundaries between the digital and physical realms, using his creations to reimagine reality. His characters, blurring the lines between real and virtual, serve as conduits to explore alternative materialities and relationships, injecting a playful critique into contemporary art discourse.

Central to the exhibition is GZPRM GOPNIK, a persona drawn from the Slavic subculture, specifically the Russian gopnik subculture, known for its surrealistic internet presence. Through elements such as Adidas-clad figures dancing to early techno, or posing with oversized fish, Stafylakis creates an immersive setting akin to a bear’s den. With wit and candor, he satirizes Western perceptions of post-Soviet Russia, inviting visitors to engage with political themes and conflicting perspectives.

The exhibition expands on 3 and 4 August with Undefined Shapes II, a celebration of electronic music held in a specially designed space in Skala Kalloni. This two-day event will feature international DJs and producers from the techno and ambient scenes, alongside screenings and discussions. Additionally, the exhibition will be accompanied by a monographic publication in Greek and English, designed by Marlon Tate.
