ViZ Laboratory for Visual Culture will be showcasing projects by students and graduates of the Athens School of Fine Arts that interrogate our entanglement in current visual codes. asfa showcase #1 presents projects by Kevin Mucollari and Marina Fragkioudaki, and an audiovisual live-set by Marina Fragkioudaki and Tzitzifriki. Mucollari, a senior student at ASFA Lab 3, creates 3D animation works questioning the role of expectation and desire in the digital simulation of eroticism and its objects: digital existences drenched in promise and dark denial. Marina Fragioudaki, a second year student at studio11asfa, remixes video and photographic footage, along with text, to delve into the Greek infraordinary: diary footage of decomposed family frames and fleeting glimpses of leisure and youth merge into a poetic rendition of an awkwardly recent past. Fragkioudaki collaborates with Tzitzifriki for a live-set with video and live music that mashes quotidian scenes into a rhythmic ensemble. In 2018, Tzitzifriki released his first solo album “Sun Sneeze” by ThinkBaby Music. We will have a DJ set with EKAHLO, Yokai34 and ixc999x.
