Gardens, squares, auditoriums: questions about art and research

ga22319987

Exhibition at the Former Municipal Baths of Patras in the framework of Re-Culture 3 festival and MoKE (Unit of Innovation and Entrepreneurship) of ASFA, 12 December 2014.

Curated by Kostis Stafylakis

The show resulted from the Research based art seminar delivered by Kostis Stafylakis for the Unit of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of ASFA. It brought together the work of three post-graduate students of ASFA experimenting with new systems of knowledge production facilitated by performative, process-based, and occasionally interventionist methods. Inspired by the pretexts of  hegemonic narratives of national identity, these artists plant visual traps that grasp unexpected responses. Gardens, squares, and auditoriums serve as the new loci for inquisitive interventionism.

Artists: Natasa Biza, Vivian Emmanouilidou, Io Chaviara
